Sculpture "Dragons!" Grades 4- 7

Dragons are fabulous sculptures! Creativity and dexterity!

The dragon shown above is made with fired & glazed potter's clay but great dragons can be made in any sculpture medium. Choices include kiln-fired clay (firing not included), or air-dry clay.

Clay dragons can be fired. Firing requires the use of a kiln. Many schools without kilns make arrangements with their local highschool art teacher to have their projects fired! Please be aware that firing clay will take at least a week and a half of time, usually longer due to kiln scheduling.  Bisque-fired pieces (first firing) can be left as is or painted with tempera or acrylic paints. If you want the full experience, you can try glazing. (please be aware of the cost of glazes and the need for a second firing.)

Please note: Air-dry clay will always remain somewhat fragile.

Please ensure that you have a FULL hour & a half of time if you are choosing Dragons!
