Hello!
I’d like to introduce myself, my name is Joanne Howard and I’m
an Artist. I work mainly in watercolour & oil pastel but have also tried
my hand at sculpture, oils, and technology based mediums. I'm a professional
art instructor with more than 25 years experience teaching art to children, teens and
adults.
For many years now, I have been offering hands-on art workshops to Elementary
Schools in the Lower Mainland. These workshops take place in your classroom
and most lessons take about an hour and a half.
You
book a day (or more) for your school (booking generally takes place near June 1st for the
following school year) and share that day between three divisions. Each
class can choose its own lesson and medium or everyone can create the
same project. Your choice!
This is a field trip without the bus! Students treat these workshops as something
special! They pay close attention to the lesson and work with enthusiasm on
the project. Teachers are often surprised at the work produced by their students.
At the end of the session, students will have created a piece of art that
they can proudly display and take home to their families.
I believe that studying art and exploring creativity provides children with
much more than just a pretty picture! It provides a sense of accomplishment,
opens minds to new possibilities and improves quality of life.
I teach in a friendly & relaxed style that promotes confidence and
enthusiasm. We work together to achieve success!
Everyone has their own unique style and I love to encourage individuality
within the lesson guidelines. I tend to enjoy these workshops as much as the
kids do!
Please use the navigation bar on the left side
the screen to find all kinds of information regarding the workshops!
2023/2024 is fully booked! Thanks!
